Daria Makhateli
Born in Leningrad, graduated from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 2005 and joined the Mariinsky Theatre the same year. During her career with Mariinsky Theater first, and then with Finnish National Ballet, Daria performed principal title roles in “Le Corsaire”, "Giselle”, “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Spartacus”, “Don Quixote” “La Bayadere” as well as in Balanchine ballet’s “Serenade”, “Theme and Variations” “Diamonds”, “Rubies”, “Emeralds”, “Symphony in C”, “Allegro Brillante” and others.
Daria has also been a guest performer at Asami Maki Ballet in Tokyo, where she danced the title role in Azari Plisetsky’s "Lady of the Camellias”. She is the recipient of the prestigious Golden Sofit" award for her performance in "Meek One" choreographed by Donvena Pandoursky in 2007.
In addition to her performances as a guest ballerina on stages worldwide, Daria also shares her expertise as a guest teacher in Panama, Belgium, France, Monaco, and Italy.
In 2016, Daria and her husband founded the 1st International Ballet Company Audition platform, which has quickly become one of the most important events in the world of ballet, connecting talented dancers with prestigious companies and opening doors to incredible opportunities.
